The news announced on Thursday by Buckingham Palace that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II had passed away was received across the Country and Commonwealth with great sadness.

On behalf of Haslemere Rugby Club, we would like to offer our condolences to all the members of the Royal family at this time. The subsequent images and television commentary has provided us with a reminder, were it needed, of her remarkable reign and of the example she provided to us all. For seventy years, she has been a source of inspiration to young and old and we shall all miss her courage, dedication, wisdom and humour.

As a matter of respect to Her Majesty, the club will be marking the occasion appropriately over the weekend with a 2 minute silence. Details of the timing of this will be communicated by club officials on Sunday morning.
